Abstract

Annotation: In this ongoing research, this article argue that storytelling activities can be used as creative tasks to stimulate creativity in children, one of the so-called 21st century skills. In this paper, we lay the foundations for this article on digitally supported storytelling, by gathering the viewpoints on storytelling and creativity expressed by local primary school teachers and reviewing methods reported in the literature. Storytelling and creative writing can be powerful tools for enhancing children's language skills. By engaging children in the world of stories and creative expression, they not only improve their vocabulary and grammar, but also develop their imagination, communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. Through storytelling, children are exposed to different narrative structures, sentence patterns, and descriptive language, helping them to become better writers and speakers. Creative writing allows children to express their thoughts and emotions in a meaningful way, fostering their self-expression and confidence in using the English language. Additionally, storytelling and creative writing can make language learning more enjoyable and interactive, leading to a deeper understanding and appreciation of English for children.
